SOFIA family member,


We are asking you to take a minute and think about SOFIA. What a blessing it is to have this connection to our Italian family roots and culture. For many of us, we enjoy the camaraderie of our SOFIA “family” here in Fairfield. Last year, we had the chance to enjoy advanced cooking classes to potlucks and we had the honor of hosting the largest featured event of Fairfield’s Art Walks, the All Things Italian Festival. We finished the year with a Columbus Day Dinner and Dance with a fun 60’s band from Iowa City.


Now is the time to think what you can do to make it even better this year. Maybe this year you can take the lead on an event or part of the Festival. We know all of us are working hard to make a go of it in challenging times. But now, more than ever, is when we need to take some time out once in a while to enjoy things that puts a song in our heart and joy in our life.


So, please, respond to this e-mail today.  Oh, some more good news! Because of the success we have had as a group, this year the dues will be only $50 – for both individuals and family memberships.  This way we won’t have to keep track of who brought what guest. You can always send more, or if this is a pinch and we will work with you to come up with a do-able dues for you, or, if need be, a full “scholarship.”  Don’t let the dues stand in the way of being a part of of SOFIA. If you want to be an active member, we want you! Checks should be made out to SOFIA and mailed to P.O. Box 682, Fairfield, IA  52556, or taken to Dick in his office in the Broadway Building.
